"The last time the world's arms peddlars held a show in
Australia, AIDEX'91,
the Australian people, churches, unions, solidarity and green groups
showed them
that they were not welcome here and succesfully cancelled the proposed
follow up
show in 1993.
Although its been 17 years, most Australians still feel the same way.

Supermarket
Expo for War Toys and real public money on gun sales
(What if they had
to have a lamington stall to sell their guns?)
In November this year, aarms fair called the Asia Pacific Defence
and Security Exhibition (APDSE) will be held in Adelaide, South Australia.
Inappropriately, it is due to open on Remembrance Day (Tuesday 11 November),
and runs over three days, finishing on Thursday 13 November.
This arms exhibit provides military companies from all over the world
an opportunity to display and sell their latest war-fighting machinery.
More information at:

from http://www.mapw.org.au/files/downloads/ADPSe%20flyer%20FINAL.pdf and share it with you rfriends and allies.
Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) is one of
a number of peace groups protesting this arms fair which we have re-named
the Asia Pacific Death and Suffering Exhibition.
In the lead-up to APDSE, Women's International League for Peace and Freedom
is offering a series of singing workshops for people who would like
to express their opposition to APDSE as a part of the global arms trade.
In the workshops, we will be learning suitable songs and deciding how
we can use music most effectively as part of the wider campaign against
this event.
WILPF will also offer non-violence training workshops in the lead-up
to the protests.
