Campaign to demilitarise Australia

Australian Government policy and practice is driving the ongoing normalisation of military involvement within Australian culture, society, economy, and educational institutions.

Since 2010 militarisation has increased significantly with increasing investments in military budgets, expansion of arms industry and exports, and peaking in 2020 with domestic military operations related to natural disasters, bushfires and the COVID-19 pandemic.

WILPF addresses gender inequalities and promotes justice and human rights for all as prerequisites  for peace and conflict prevention locally and globally – a feminist peace, with justice, equality and demilitarised security for all.
