The Awardees have just been announced:

  • Professor Megan Davis
    • Co-Chair of the Uluru Dialogue, for her work for Human Rights and Indigenous Australians, and for her co-leadership of advocacy for The Voice campaign.
  • Aunty Pat Anderson
    • Co-Chair of the Uluru Dialogue, for her work for Human Rights and Indigenous Australians, and her co-leadership of advocacy for The Voice campaign.
  • Dr Alice Jill Edwards
    • UN Special Rapporteur on Torture and other Cruel and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, for her work for Women Peace and Security.
  • Michelle Maloney
    • Co-Founder and Director of the New Economy Network, and National Convenor of the Australian Earth Laws Alliance, for her work for the environment and against climate change.
  • Dr Amanda Ruler
    • Convenor and Vice President, the Medical Association for the Prevention of War (Australia), for her work challenging militarism and advocating for the end of nuclear weapons.

The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom Australia (WILPF) National PeaceWomen  Awards acknowledge and honour Australian women who are leading for peace in a range of areas that  accord with WILPF’s vision.

The Awards are held every three years.

WILPF‘s vision is a world of permanent peace built on feminist foundations of freedom, jusIce,  nonviolence, human rights and equality for all. WILPF is a global membership-based, feminist peace building organisation of volunteer actvists established more than 100 years ago. The organisation is anI war, non-profit, and non-aligned.
